With only 400 visitors allowed at a time and a small resident population, Lord Howe Island is a peaceful retreat. Spanning just 11km in length, most places are easily reached by walking or cycling. Capella Lodge provides complimentary mountain bikes, with e-bikes and an electric buggy available for hire. A public phone in town offers free local calls for convenience, and a limited number of hire cars can be booked in advance through local operators.
