Flanked by national parks including towering forests, pristine coastlines and rugged granite outcrops, the Margaret River Region is the quintessential Western Australian holiday destination. This is award-winning wine country with a thriving art scene, incredible hiking trails, and a distinctly circular food philosophy with a great respect for the land.
Margaret River has been heavily promoted as a wine region but there is much more to the region than meets the eye. Each of the Margaret River Region’s towns (Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Cowaramup, & Gracetown) can be found hugging the coast of the Indian Ocean. And then there is the town itself called Margaret River, which is set inland and named for the river. The region is known for wine, whales, wildflowers, caves and beautiful nature walks.
For help planning your next adventure, contact our team of local travel experts here in the Margaret River Region.

The main route is to fly to Perth and then travel by car which takes approximately 3 hrs. It is possible to fly direct to Busselton-Margaret River Arport from Melbourne (a 2hr flight), from Perth (a 50 minute flight).
With all of the activities and opportunities for relaxation we would strongly recommend a minium of a two night stay (or longer if your timetable allows). See these self drive trips that have incorporated a two night stay in Margaret River.
Many attractions are scattered between Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup and Margaret River. If you wanted the convenience to walk into town for dinners and acivities then we would recommend staying in Margaret River. If you prefer the coast then head to Cape Lodge at Yallingup, with its iconic Cape Lodge Restaurant.
